Minimal LP filter worked to reduce 60Hz signal from sig gen.
Three identical banks in series
Increased attenuation of target freq significantly
from atten with single bank.
------------------
Setup:
Espotek sig gen configured for 60 Hz sine wave, 2v (pk-pk) amplitude
input directly to ch-1,
and to input of filter circuit
Output of filter into ch-2.
First trial:
Sig gen signal in ch-1 measures 1.08v pk
simple, one-stage LP
R = 2.7k, C = 1 uf, fc = 59 Hz
Filter output as measured on Espotek = 0.78v pk (2.8 dB)
Second trial:
R = 4.5k, C = 1uf, fc = 35 Hz
Filter output as measured on Espotek = 0.56v pk (5.7 dB)
3rd trial:
2-stages in series, both simple LP with
R = 2.7k, C = 1uf, fc = 59 Hz
Filter output as measured on Espotek = 0.36v pk (9.5 dB)
4th trial:
2-stages in series, both simple LP with
R = 3.9k, C = 1uf, fc = 41 Hz
Filter output as measured on Espotek = 0.27 v pk (12 dB)
5th trial:
3-stages in series, all simple LP with
R = 3.9k, C = 1uf, fc = 41 Hz
Filter output as measured on Espotek = 0.11 v pk (19.8 dB)
